Week starting 17 February 2012

DRUGS

With additional resources in the District, Police have been conducting patrols along the railway line, utilising the drug dogs. Several persons were found with drugs and have been dealt with.

Information from members of the public and intelligence by officers from Gosnells station have provided enough evidence for Police to execute 4 Misuse of Drugs Search Warrants in the Maddington and Gosnells area.

One of the warrants located a Improvised Drug Manufacture Site (Commonly known as a Clan Lab) in the Gosnells area. One of the arrested suspects has been charged with Manufacture of a Prohibited Drug and other drug related charges.

The other warrants also resulted in persons charged with varying drug offences and are all due in court in the very near future.

BURGLARY

Canning Vale Police have been conducting Quad bike patrols in their area but also patrolled into Huntingdale and over the river into Gosnells. During their patrols they located offenders carrying weapons and drugs. They were processed by Police yesterday but since then a burglary has been reported which I was able to link to the property which was seized. Inquiries now will be made with those offenders in relation to the burglary.

Another successful story is an incident in Huntingdale where a resident disturbed a female offender inside her house. The offender fled to a waiting vehicle. The resident had the presence of mind to call Police and provide them with information pertaining to her IPhone, which had a tracking device activated.

She was able to direct Police from Huntingdale to South Lake where Police located the offender, the stolen IPhone and other property from a burglary in Bentley.

The offender was arrested and released to bail on a curfew.

Police also responded to a Burglary in Orange Grove where the occupiers' dog disturbed the offenders. Patrolling Police located the offenders and recovered the stolen items.

Those offenders were charged and will be appearing in court in the near future.

ROBBERY

There has been a recent spate of incidents where people have been walking and having earphones in. This enables the offenders to sneak up on people and have the element of surprise.

Please be mindful when walking and using electronic devices.

It has been a successful week in apprehending offenders but it is still very important for everyone to be vigilant, watching out for your neighbours' and reporting suspicious activity.

Have a great weekend and hopefully a safe one.
